Lance Edward Armstrong

Lance Edward Armstrong is a famous professional road bike racer in U.S.A. He was born in Texas, America on September 18, 1971. He competed in triathlons and joined a general category in a triathlon race in 1983. In 1987, he became a professional triathlere, and then converted to a road bike racer. After he became a professional road bike racer in 1992, he won the world championship meet in Oslo, in Norway and was the youngest man in history to win the race. But unfortunately, he was informed by doctor that he had canter on October 2, 1996. From 1996 to 1998, he began receiving chemotherapy and he was operated on for cancer in his head. Luckily, his treatment was successful, so he resumed training and made a comeback in the next year. He won the Tour de France from 1999 to 2005, and his record has never broken. After he won the Tour de France, he started a LIVE STRONG project for people with cancer and retired from professional sports in 2005. Now, he made a comeback for people have cancer again and ride bike to give them hope.
